Our standard service covers a 50-point checklist, as recommended by The Good Garage Scheme.
The purpose of a car service is to check the main parts of your vehicle, and replace any that have worn out with time and use. Some parts, such as oil and brake pads wear out quicker, and therefore need checking more regularly, than other parts such as spark plugs and fuel filters.
To find out more about exactly what's involved in a service, as well as what kind of service your vehicle needs and how often it should be serviced, read the information below, or contact us and we'll be happy to give you some personal advice.
Regular servicing is important for the health of your vehicle and ideally should be conducted regularly; how regularly will depend in some part on the age of the vehicle. Newer cars probably only need one annual service whereas an older vehicle may need to be serviced every 6 months. The service book that came with your car is a very good guide.
This is annual maintenance for your car. We recommend your vehicle has a full service every year or approx 12,000 miles.
Having a regular full service will reduce the risk of breaking down and may help to maintain the value of your car.
Our full service is made up of a 50 point check as recommended by The Good Garage Scheme. Amongst others we will check lights, fluid levels, tyres, washers and wipers. Check, adjust and de-dust the brakes, change the oil and all the filters and spark plugs (where applicable).Interim service
We would recommend this service take place every 6 months or 6,000 miles between full services. This service is ideal for people with high mileage or for those who just use their car for short journeys in and around town.
The Good Garage Scheme recommends a 28 point check to include lights, fluid levels, wipers, tyres, brakes and changing the oil and filter.Oil change service
